BELGRADE -- Ljubodrag Stojadinovic said that if anyone has any idea of where Ratko Mladic is, it’s the military information services.

Stojadinovic, a political analyst for the daily Politika, said that it is hard to expect that the government is working on its action plan to find and arrest Ratko Mladic, regardless of what Prime Minister Vojislav Koštunica says.

“What the government and legislative bodies are doing looks like an alibi for the international community and in some way for the Serbian public, who are interested in seeing this come to an end.” Stojadinovic said.

Daily Blic writes that former Yugoslav Military Chief-of-Staff Nebojša Pavkovic told the Hague Tribunal that Aco Tomic, anther former military senior official, met with Mladic, and that the current chief of the military information service Svetko Kovaè knows exactly where he is.

Stojadinovic said that general Pavkovic might be in the position to give such a statement.

“If anyone knows where Ratko Mladic might be hiding, it is the senior officials of the security services, firstly the Serbian military. Therefore, Pavkovic could have controlled their work, but he could not control Aco Tomic.” Stojadinovic said.

“There is information that points to a meeting between Tomic and Mladic somewhere on the highway, and I can guess that Tomic was called in for interrogation about why he was called on and what these meetings meant, considering the fact that Tomic was heading the security services at the time.” Stojadinovic said.

Stojadinovic said that the expansion of the investigation into the alleged helpers of Mladic will not lead to any new trails of the Hague fugitive, because no actions and no helpers have led to Mladic yet.

“The government can continue to give optimistic statements, but it is obvious that Mladic is being protected by vital information which can only be gotten from the people who are supposed to be responsible for finding Mladic.” Stojadinovic said.
